How did you experience God this week (joys, struggles, breakthroughs)?
How did the Holy Spirit speak to you through His Word this week? (We desire for God’s Word to always be on our minds, upon our lips, and deep in our hearts).
Family Discipleship Questions
This Week’s Memory Verse: The LORD will fight for you; you need only to be still. -Exodus 14:14
This week we learned how God and his people were victorious in getting out of Egypt via the final plague and God’s parting of the Red Sea. Ask your child what they learned about God this week, in Sunday school or elsewhere.
Discuss how you have seen God be victorious - whether in the news, your own life, and/or what victory looks like in Jesus.
Practice the memory verse (above) in preparation for reciting it for a prize this Sunday.
Next Sunday is Discipleship Sunday! Prepare your child by reviewing what they learned the past few weeks:
God is Faithful (Jacob wrestled with God when he was afraid)
God Redeems (Joseph’s life)
God Saves (Joseph and his brothers)
God is I AM (Moses and the burning bush)
God fights for you (Plagues on Egypt)
God is Victorious (Israelites out of Egypt via the Red Sea)
Questions to engage either corporately or silently: What have you put in place of God or given your heart to this week? What sin do you need to repent of? What area are you not trusting your identity is in Christ? Encourage one another to turn to God and receive his forgiveness and grace. (Consider praying our Corporate Confession together)
+ Corporate Confession
Most merciful God, we confess that we have sinned against you in thought, word, and deed, by what we have done, and by what we have left undone.
We have not loved you with our whole heart; we have not loved our neighbors as ourselves.
We are truly sorry and we humbly repent.
For the sake of your Son Jesus Christ, have mercy on us and forgive us; that we may delight in your will, and walk in your ways, to the glory of your Name. Amen.
Spend a few minutes praying into the areas God has spoken to you about. Pray for one another and for the non-believers in your lives. (Consider praying through the Lord’s Prayer)
